DIY Shower Steamers by Mary (@enjoying_the_thyme)
This recipe is directly from my friend Mary, @enjoying_the_thyme.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup baking soda
1/4 cup Epsom salts or sea salts
1/4 cup corn starch
1/4 cup citric acid
3 teaspoons oil of choice
1 Tbsp water (may vary)
Essential oil of your choice, 10-15 drops for mild scent, 15-30 for moderate scent, 30+ from strong scent. Favorites include, grapefruit, eucalyptus, mint, lavender, lemon.
Molds - can be dixie cups, ice cube tray, popsicle molds, small cups, or specialized shower steamer molds.
Optional - dried herbs for topping. Lavender, mint, eucalyptus leaves, etc.
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients in mixing bowl.
Slowly whisk ingredients together until it resembles wet sand consistency.
If using, sprinkle dried herbs into the bottom of the molds
Pack the mixture into the molds.
Let dry for around 24 hours until completely dry.
Pop out of the molds and they are ready for use!
When using, place in the corner of the shower, not directly under the water. Let the steam slowly disintegrate the shower steamer.
