Newsletter Issue #2 - Fire Element

Finding Stillness and Wonder Newsletter

Finding Stillness

Meditation is my favorite way to maintain my personal chi (energy). This week my favorite meditation on Insight Timer was “Morning Meditation for Positivity,” by Darius Bashar.

Fire Element in Home Energetics

Do you notice your energy lacking, feeling tired, or uninspired? It’s time for some fire element in your life. Lighting (natural and artificial) is one of the easiest ways to bring fire energy into the home and enliven the chi. Fire element brings yang (masculine) energy, inspiration, and fresh life force. Spaces that are particularly dark (feminine/yin) and lacking fresh chi can be draining and overpowering. To counteract particularly dark and dingy areas, it is best to bring in a vertical light with the bulb pointing upwards to lift the chi of the space and support upward moving energy. In the case of smaller areas, stick on puck lighting or plug in night lights can also be used to spark fresh chi. It’s amazing what light can do to enhance the chi of a space, improving the energy of the room, the entire home, and ultimately you!

Fire Element for the Body with Herbalism

Fire cider anyone? This spicy tonic is packed full of different ingredients that boost the immune system for fighting different pathogens (ie, cold and flu), reduce inflammation, and warm up the body during cold winter months. You likely have most of the ingredients at home already! I used a mix of the two recipes below, plus a few extra herbs from my garden.
