Newsletter #19 What is Wellness?

What is “living well?” What is “wellness?”

This week I want to talk about wellness and later this month I’ll be elaborating on free and cheap ways to improve wellness in all aspects of your life.

Wellness is creating healthy habits and practices to improve physical and mental outcomes – doing things to make yourself feel your best, not just to be content or to get by, but to really thrive and feel good in all aspects of life.

Evaluate wellness in your life with the wheel of life assessment:

This is a wellbeing assessment tool that can help you identify what areas of life are lacking and need support. You can take a free assessment online (google wheel of life assessment) or grab your journal and write down these categories:

  • Friends and social life

  • Health and fitness

  • Career

  • Fun, hobbies

  • Money

  • Family

  • Spirituality

  • Love

  • Personal growth

  • Physical environment

Then rate your life in each category 1-10, 10 being the best and 1 being non-existent.

Once you see your rating your can take note of which areas of life are you feeling good with and which areas are really lacking for you.

Then you can decide how you want to take this into consideration as you improve your wellbeing.
