A Mini Fall Tarot Reading

Do tarot and Feng Shui go together?

In my personal practice I use a multitude of spiritual modalities to create a life and environment of connection and balance. I often pull oracle or tarot cards when I’m starting something new (entering a new season) or looking for clarity or direction.

In tarot, the suit of swords is commonly associated with air element, but there is no air element in Feng Shui. I’ve found that the associations of the suit of swords are similar to the associations of metal element in Feng Shui. The metal element is associated with communication, inspiration, completion, creativity, and strength. In tarot the suit of swords is associated with clarity, communication, intellect, and mental activity.

When metal element is balanced in Feng Shui you are able to communicate effectively, complete projects, feel supported by helpful people, release what no longer serves you, and organize your life and goals. When metal is unbalanced you may have difficulty completing tasks, feel uninspired, be critical of self and others, lack support, feel scattered, disorganized, too busy and overcommitted.

The Reading

In honor of metal element and fall I pulled a few cards from the suit of swords and the major arcana (I left in the major arcana in case an overarching message wanted to come through). If you’re looking for a bit of inspiration this fall season close your eyes and pick, 1, 2, or 3, (or any combination) and read your message below.

*You are an autonomous being. When you read your message, consider how it feels in your mind, heart, and body, take what resonates and leave what doesn’t.

*Deck is Aquarian Tarot by David Palladini.

If you chose 1: Judgement

This is a card asking for you to let go, make your judgement call and decide what is and is not serving you right now. This is perfect for the metal of fall because when metal is unbalanced you may have difficulty completing tasks, feel uninspired, feel scattered, disorganized, too busy and overcommitted. When you release something holding you back you will gain fresh inspiration and clarity, when you release from the past, you will see a fresh future ahead of you.

If you chose 2: 3 of Swords

This card is about letting go or “disentangling” oneself from relationships that are no longer supportive. Where or how can you assert your independence more in your life? Examine your support and relationships, then decide what you will tolerate and maintain. It may be painful at first, but your future self will thank you. The metal element rules the helpful people gua, if you are looking to take action and call in more positive relationships, activate this gua with metal or earth adjustments.

If you chose 3: Strength

There is so much strength inside of you, and you have the ability to overcome all obstacles. This card is asking you to identify your personal power, your ego, and your intuition, how will you decipher what is in the best interest of your mind or the best interest of you heart? This card is reminding you of your infinite strength and wisdom. When metal is unbalanced you may have difficulty completing tasks, feel uninspired, be critical of self and others, feel scattered, and disorganized. How can you apply strength, creativity, and passion to your life to complete your tasks and overcome any blocks you are currently facing?
