Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends in the US!

This week feels like the official start of the holiday season. While intended to bring joy and love, the holidays can also be a chaotic and stressful, experience. I know that that not everyone has a positive and peaceful association with the holidays. No matter what your personal experience is with this time of year, know that I am sending you so much love. I am truly grateful for you. I hope this newsletter will encourage you to find small moments of stillness and wonder to ground and support you as we move through the holiday season and close out 2022.

Finding Stillness

This is my own quick and easy gratitude meditation (only 4 1/2 minutes).

Stillness and Wonder for the Mind and Body

We live in a marvelous world; do you ever take the time to deeply appreciate and wonder at what is around you? I’d like to introduce to you, gratitude walks or as my animal communication teacher, Kristen Houser of Fauna Speak, calls them, “wonder walks.” The idea is that you simply go on a walk outside, moving slowly, intentionally, but without a set purpose or direction, taking time to wonder at all the things you notice, big and small. I like to take the time to look at different leaves, notice cloud patterns, I might even turn over a rock to discover what is underneath. Close your eyes and feel the energy of the earth and all living things around you. I find these walks really put me in a state of appreciation and gratitude. This feels like the perfect pre or post-Thanksgiving meal activity to me!

Home Energetics - Your Gratitude Practice

An attitude of gratitude amplifies any Feng Shui adjustment. In Home Energetics we use intention to focus the energy (chi) of our surroundings into supporting us and magnetizing what we desire in life. Starting your intentions with gratitude signals to the universe that you are positive and appreciative for what you have, you will be open and willing to attract and magnify continued positive experiences. What you appreciate, appreciates! Focusing your energy on gratitude only attracts more positive things, people, experiences, to be grateful for.

Whenever I make a specific adjustment based on a certain gua (theme of life area within the home), I first focus on what I am grateful for that I already have in my life related to that gua. Then I implement the Feng Shui to further expand and attract new energy in that area of life. For example, let’s say I am wanting to bring more clients into my business. Before I adjust my career or abundance gua I will meditate on how grateful I am to be in business, how much I appreciate my current clients and everyone I’ve ever worked with, and I give thanks to the universe for sharing my work kindly and freely, attracting the right people to me. Gratitude first, always.

Journal Prompt for Gratitude

This prompt is a favorite in my meditate and journal live sessions on Insight Timer. It’s a mix of self-love and gratitude list. Find a comfortable seat, grab your pen and journal, and begin with this prompt.

Write out a gratitude list of at least 5 things you are grateful for.

  1. A personal characteristic of yourself you are grateful for.

  2. A physical characteristic of yourself you are grateful for.

  3. Something you are proud of yourself for.

  4. Someone in your life you are grateful for.

  5. The remainder are up to you. Let it flow.
