I love the idea of thrifted gifts, mixing curated items with new to make a gift box, or turning thrifted items into a thoughtful DIY gift. I love that thrifting gifts is more sustainable and supportive of the local economy. Browsing the local thrift shop gave me a lot of ideas I’m excited to share with you.

  • This video gave me great inspiration:

    • For the tea lovers - find a cute pair of tea cups or tea pot and some silver spoons, pair it with your favorite tea blend.

    • For the coffee lover - cute coffee mug with their favorite beans.

    • For the new homeowners - vintage coupes with a bottle of bubbly.

    • Candy dish - fill a colorful candy dish with home made cookies, treats, or even the shower steamers from this recipe.

  • Ideas for thrifted table decor:

    • Beautiful crystal or silver candle holders are an easy to find gift that can be used to enhance any holiday table scape.

    • Find a unique vase and fill it with a fresh bouquet, your recipient not only receives a beautiful ready to use decoration, but also one-of-a-kind piece that they will use over and over again, thinking of you fondly every time.

  • A one-of-a-kind vintage jewelry piece from this online shop.

  • For the wrapping paper - I love the look of a thrifted scarf for wrapping or a statement bow that the gift receiver can use again!

  • Tea cup candles - combines thriftmas and DIY. Find cute tea cups or bowls at your local thrift shop for creative candle molds. Candle making kits are easy to find at your local craft store, this would be a fun family activity!

  • For the hosts - a unique vase with a fresh bouquet of flowers

  • For the plant lovers - you can turn any vase, cup, or bowl into a planter. I’ve seen plenty of fishbowl style glasses at Goodwill and have turned them into open terrariums. Check out your local plant shop/hardware store and buy a little plant and plant it with love to gift to your friend. I like to add a little rock or crystal in with the plant to make it into dynamic mini fairy garden. Make sure to include come basic plant care tips if your friend is a newbie.

Shower steamers

Terrarium - find a thrifted glass vessel and make mini fairy garden with succulents, rocks, crystals, and other tiny trinkets.

Homemade salmon skin pet treats - we can’t leave our furry friends out of the gifting!

Candles - use thrifted tea cups for the vessels. Mix your favorite dried herbs, essential oils, or mini crystals into the candles for a personal touch.
